Sourcing
Every factual claim in a Timber Trails article is traceable to a numbered source, listed at the end of the piece. We prioritise primary sources — peer-reviewed research, government and multilateral datasets, and named specialists — over secondary summaries.
Uncertainty
Environmental science is often incomplete or contested. Where the underlying data is limited, disputed, or measured inconsistently across sources, we say so directly in the article rather than presenting a false sense of precision.
Independence
Timber Trails does not accept payment in exchange for favourable coverage, and does not run sponsored editorial content. Our reporting is not influenced by advertisers, and we currently carry no advertising.
Photography
Contributed photographs are captioned and credited to their photographer. We do not alter the substance of a photograph beyond standard exposure and colour correction, and we do not use generative AI to create or materially alter editorial photography.
